welcome back.

welcome home, my friend.

its been a long long time since i've written, and i'm feeling quite trite lately,
but looking back at this summer,
it has been a lovely one.

one of the best ever, perhaps.

i've been fortunate enough to:

work forty hours, or more, a week
visit a friend
go to acorn buddy camp
spend time with old friends
go the beach
go camping
go to my cottage
and remain very very satisfied with my life.

and now, its the school year, and i am ready to make some changes, and carry them through. and start new classes, and make something of myself.

3101 will be great.

whoa, its june!

now, i simply can't believe its already june 12. i swear just yesterday was june 1st.

this is great, though.

next week is the first week of full time work and the full crew, and i am going to miss spending a full 6 hours a day with hunter and zack. they're pretty much quality.

also next week is a lovely weekend with three great friends, and some fishing. sure to be a good time.

i am no longer going to worry about the following things: money, joshua chovaz, and the future. good.

dear friend: come home

you know its officially summer time when your ears turn a gorgeous golden brown and then begin to peel. its not officially summer on my ears, but i think its safe to say that it is near.

work is great, and with a lot of recent effort, i believe my male friend count has gone from a mere 1 to about 7 in the last couple of months or so. i'm quite pleased.

i'm looking forward to the 4th of july; i always look forward to it, as if something extra great or spectacular might happen, and while nothing ever does, its still always a great day. this year i'll be at my cottage enjoying my family in great northern michigan. i want sparklers at my wedding.

safe travels.

wow, may twenty-something already?

that seems quick but in the broad scheme of things, summer is dragging.

let's give 'em something to talk about

some things that are spectacular, and that have already occurred in summa '08:

-final grades being much, much higher than what blackboard stated (hooray!)
-substitute teaching
-getting payed money
-seeing the people i love
-talking to people that live far away
-discovering how truly wonderful ella fitzgerald is
-laughing all day long at work (inevitable when working with zach and hunter)
-feeling good about myself
-having lovely facebook chats at 1am with the one and only laina rosema about messed-up cats and plans that involve lots and lots of catnip!
-singing oldies in the car with scott and amy driving up and down the east beltline

...and its only been a week

shy that way.

this summer will be great in more ways than one.

i am sure of it.

one to four months.

"Sing the wondrous love of Jesus,
Sing His mercy and His grace.
In the mansions bright and blessèd
He’ll prepare for us a place."

"Go rest high on that mountain
Son, your work on earth is done
Go to heaven a shoutin'
Love for the Father and Son."
i have no great comforting words for those in my life that need it, and others who need comfort on lesser scales aren't getting any either, because, in my mind right now, their problems are so minuscule and petty; it makes me want to throw up. which, whatever. i'm a bitch. fine.

lung cancer. liver cancer. stage four. four months maximum. one month minimum. no treatment. care facility? home? whats next?

"May angels lead you in.
Hear you me my friends.
On sleepless roads the sleepless go.
May angels lead you in.
So what would you think of me now,
so lucky, so strong, so proud?
I never said thank you for that,
now I'll never have a chance."

escape isn't an option, but if i could jump ahead to september, i sure would.
